My 12 month old PIt Bull runs away when people come onto my property and shows fear when approached by people when I'm taking hiom for a walk. He's been to puppy classes and has not had any bad "people experiences" I've had him since he was 6 weeks old. Is there cause for concern? How can I adress this behaviour. Trevor

He is at the age where he is more aware of his surroundings. Just keep on reassuring him that all is okay. When he shows fear get him to sit and wait. When the person/s come closer, all the time say its okay and praise him for being good. Reward for good behaviour.

If it is really bad, I would suggest and eye and ear testing with your local vet.

There are 2 words that bother me in your post. One is PIT and the other is BULL. You stated that it had not had any bad people experiences, but there are plenty of people who have had bad pit bull experiences. I may sound predjudiced her, but have seen a pitbull attack an innocent intellectually handicapped, lovable person for no reason whatsoever and a frightened dog can very quickly attack if it feels threatened. I would be VERY CAREFUL with visitors around him. Sorry If I have offended you.

I've also had this problem with my puppy. But I constantly went with him in the parks, places where he could feel good but there are still people around him. And with time he get used to it and now everything it's ok!
