History...
|
|
Munchkin's arose from a
spontaneous mutation that has been proven to be dominant. Although
short-legged cats were identified in England and Russia in the
middle of the last century, virtually all of today's Munchkin's are
descendants of cats found and bred in Louisiana in the mid-1980's.
This is one of the newest breeds of cat; they were first exhibited
in 1991, and were accepted under NBC (new breed or colour) status in
several cat fancy organizations in 1995.
